Director

of the

YA

John F. Kennedy School

Dear YA participants,

As one of your Youth Assembly directors, I feel honored to welcome you to this year‘s BERMUN conference. This will be my second conference so far. Previously, I participated as a delegate of the Youth Assembly, and since this will likely be my last conference, I am very excited to be one of its chair members.

In the Youth Assembly, we are allowed to address issues that affect our delegates personally. The conference serves an opportunity to discuss and seek solutions. Our topic (Integrating Civil Society - Fostering a Global Identity and Fighting Fragmentation through Local Initiatives) especially underlines the importance of working together on a local level to help solve global problems. As a director, I look forward to contributing to the exchange of ideas and facilitating the discussion.

In addition to my political interest, I also take pleasure in being creative. I enjoy my 11th-grade art class and also love to spend my time sewing, drawing and dancing. Whenever possible, I try to improve my language skills and therefore can’t wait to engage with students from across the globe.

I hope you share my excitement about the upcoming conference. I look forward to seeing you in November!

Sincerely,

Magdalena Mendelsöhn
