Dear Delegates of the PC,
Welcome to the 2021 Political Committee at BERMUN!
The Political Committee is the fourth committee in the UN General Assembly. This committee deals with political and peacekeeping issues, which is something that will play a large role in this year’s conference. In the 2021 Political Committee, delegates will be debating the implementation of post-war transitional justice within the goal of creating conditions for sustainable peace after a violent conflict. Within this topic, it will be discussed how to best employ instruments of peace such as post-war tribunals, truth commissions, and amnesties. Working collaboratively with other delegates will be the key to creating strong resolutions to be debated with the whole of the committee.
This year it will be my distinct pleasure to serve as your co-chair, which I am greatly looking forward to. I have attended 7 MUN conferences as a delegate, and this will be my first time serving as Student Officer.
I am a 15 year old student at the John F. Kennedy School in Berlin, currently attending 10th grade. I’m originally from Berlin, but lived in places such as Moscow and Tel-Aviv before moving back here two years ago.
Apart from being a part of the MUN program, I enjoy reading, playing the clarinet and piano, as well as Muay Thai and Taekwondo. I look forward to seeing you this November!
