Dear Delegates of the Youth Assembly,
Welcome to the 2026 BERMUN Conference! This year, the conference theme will be “Resilient & Sustainable Development to Combat Climate Inequality.” This theme explores the different ways we can help counter and fix climate inequality to help build a better tomorrow. Today, in a world where the inequalities of climate change can severely impact economics, forced displacement, and heightened health risks, it is critical to help those who are impacted by climate inequality. While other committees are at work, you will be creating your own local grassroots initiatives to help tackle climate inequality. This year’s Youth Assembly theme, “Saving the Climate by Initiating Local Grassroot Activism - Which Lifestyle do I Support for Today, Tomorrow, the Future?” will be the focus of your research. The Youth Assembly theme will focus on building initiatives that will help reduce the impact of climate inequality in communities that are most affected.
On a more personal note, I am an eleventh grader at the John F. Kennedy School here in Berlin. I’ve lived in multiple places, from the U.S. state of Georgia to Stuttgart, to Berlin, Germany. I’ve lived in Berlin for around two years, and have participated in BERMUN for one year. This will be my second time being a director for the Youth Assembly, and I have been an admin in the BERMUN2 conference. Outside of BERMUN, I love participating in drama activities in my school, playing volleyball after school, and spending time with friends on the weekends. Excited to see all of you in November!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Jackson
