Dear Fellow Participants of the NATO Summit,
As the number of autocracies increases, so must our attention to this pressing issue. As we come together once again for this year’s BERMUN 2025, I have the honor of helping to ensure that we all participate in an engaging and meaningful discussion on our topics within the NATO Summit.
This year's BERMUN theme, “Building a Rules-Based Order to Withstand Authoritarianism,” allows us to pick up several important topics. In NATO, we will be focusing on the Situation in Ukraine, which is continually challenging NATO’s position and unity, whether with its partners or among its own members. Furthermore, we will discuss Strengthening Resilience against Cyber and Hybrid Threats against NATO member states, infrastructure, and democratic processes. NATO’s role is even clearer and more crucial than ever before, as it has to rethink its strategies to ensure not only peace but also the safety of every civilian within its member states. As NATO‘s official website states, it is a “pillar of security and stability”, which is needed now more than ever.
I’m honored to serve on this year’s NATO Summit. Having participated in several MUN conferences already, and with two more scheduled before BERMUN, BERMUN 2025 will mark my seventh conference. I’m 17 years old, born and raised in Germany, and currently a student in the 12th grade at Primo-Levi-Gymnasium.In my free time, I enjoy drawing, playing video games, and horse riding. I even had the chance to participate in a comic competition this year! If we share any hobbies, or if you want to chat or have questions, don’t hesitate to approach me. I am excited to not only share my experiences with you but also to hear your thoughts and insights. As you represent your countries, you’ll have the chance to explore this issue in a room full of diverse perspectives.
I’m looking forward to having a fun and equally insightful experience with all of you.
